Business news: Latest information on business grants

Thank you for bearing with us as we try to administer close to 3,000 grants in these difficult circumstance as soon as we possibly can.

Our aim is to get the grant application form to eligible businesses as quickly as possible and the best way we can do this is by sending it via Royal Mail to your registered trading address.

They are being posted tomorrow (27th March) so should arrive imminently.

We are doing this for three reasons:

1. It’s the only official details we have for eligible businesses.

2. It is a measure to prevent fraudulent claims.

3. The application will include an option to register alternative contact information for your business in the future such as an email address. This will mean you will only need to go to your business premises once.

We recognise that this is not ideal for some businesses, however seeking alternative addresses and contact details for nearly 3,000 businesses at this stage would only delay our ability to contact businesses this week and to pay grants as quickly as possible.

Please note: Once you have the application form, you can submit your application by scanning or taking a photo of your form and emailing it through to our business rates team (full information will be included in letter) or back via Royal Mail if you wish.

We wanted to take some time to highlight who is eligible for these particular grants.
